January Sneak Peeks
I can't wait to share these layouts from my Serendipity Scrapbooks January review. I had so much fun making "boy" pages, something I haven't done in a while! I also got to try out my new distress stickles, a gift from my awesome secret santa.

The Great tree hunt, 2008
So this is the 1st year we have ever had a real Christmas tree. A friend from Church led us up the side of Mt Sanger, 6500 ft to find a Noble Fir. Its an 11 mile drive that takes over an hour. It was freezing when we left our house at 8am, but at the top of the mountain above the fog and in the bright sun it was warm and beautiful!
about half way up we stopped on a ridge to look down into our valley. It's hard to see in the pics, but the wall of fog makes a really dramatic drop into the valley {were the shadow is on the fog}
Unfortunately, my camera batteries died after taking the pics above.... so I don't have any pics of us looking for or finding the tree. But we had a blast hiking all over the side of the mountain looking for the "perfect" tree! back at home, out 10 foot tree had to be trimmed to 6 1/2 feet to fit in the house with a stand and starThe kiddos did all the decorating notice the bundles under the tree? Right after decorating the tree, all the kids wrapped presents for each other and us from there rooms. The gifts are wrapped in blankets, scarfs and colorings......... the season of giving :)
Ornament exchange
I made these for an ornament exchange. I love making Ornaments, but so far every year I have given them all away...
I need to make some for my tree :)
this one was made using the paper medallion tut {below}
the snowflakes are embossed
I love this birdie! Its a chipboard from a maya road key chain album. The wing is half of a chipboard from a different album, painted gold and then crackle coated with cream
These angel wings are also from a maya road key chain album
They were given in the box from my fancy pants all fall chipboards. I altered it with gold paint and some basic grey fruit cake paper {forgot to get a pic}

Paper Medallions
Here is the Paper Medallion Tutorial
cut a strip of PP 1 inch X 12 inches
accordion pleat the strip of paper
when you finish the strip, you will need a circle of scrap paper or chipboard about 1 1/2 inches wide
attach to two ends of the paper like above
cover your circle with a strong adhesive, I use glue dots or sticky strips
push down your "tube" of folded paper to make the medallion
turn over, and attach your circle
you now have a basic medallion to embellish
you can make bigger medallions by using wider strips... but if you use a 2 inch wide strip it will take 2 strips of paper to make a complete circle, 3 inch wide will take 3 strips of paper and so on
